- THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) SUBPART 5.2 �SYNOPSES OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTIONS� NAICS: 334511 Estimated Delivery:� September 2021 Response Deadline:� 8/8/2021 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District (NWP) intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with American Vulkan Corporation (Vulkan), to purchase Vulkan T-90 Mount parts for Dredge Essayons. Dredge Essayons� home port is in Portland, Oregon. The replacement components are: Part Description Part Number Quantity Vulkan T-90 Mounts 105-02-009-26-000 24 REASON FOR SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION: The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. Dredge Essayons uses a proprietary engine to reduction gear and engine to dredge generator carbon fiber shaft arrangement which utilize highly flexible couplings for connections.� During an inspection the shipyard discovered that the flex couplings had fractures, which were replaced with the only set of spares.� These components are produced by Vulkan Corporation.� Only parts from the OEM manufacturer are going to be compatible with the existing system. *NO PHONE INQUIRIES, PLEASE.
