- Page 1 of 5 Request for Information (RFI) VINCI FY21 Windows Storage Spaces (WSS) Warranty Extension INTRODUCTION: This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bid, Request for Task Execution Plan, Request for Quotation or a Request for Proposal. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this RFI. Your response to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this RFI. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated or received for this effort. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541512 with a size standard of $30 million. Submittal Information: All responsible sources may submit a response in accordance with the below information. There is a page limitation for this RFI of six (6) pages. The Government will not review any other information or attachments included, that are in excess of the six (6) page-limit. NO MARKETING MATERIALS ARE ALLOWED AS PART OF THIS RFI. Generic capability statements will not be accepted or reviewed. If there are any vendor questions regarding the requirement, the Contracting Office will coordinate a comprehensive response and post to Federal Business Opportunities Page (FedBizOps). Any Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses responding, provide the intent and ability to meet set-aside requirement for performance of this effort, which in accordance with VAAR 852.219-10 (JUL 2016) (DEVIATION) and VAAR 852.219-11 (JUL 2016) (DEVIATION) VA Notice of Total SDVOSB Set-Aside and VA Notice of Total VOSB Set-Aside, respectively, and 13 CFR ยง125.6, the contractor will not pay more than 50% of the amount paid by the Government to it to firms that are not SDVOSBs or VOSBs as defined by VAAR 852.219-10 (JUL 2016) (DEVIATION) and VAAR 852.219-11 (JUL 2016) (DEVIATION). 3.0 BACKGROUND: VA, Office of Information & Technology, requires acquisition of DataOnTM storage warranty extension for the existing Veterans Informatics and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI) environment. As the need for big data continues, so does VINCI s need to increase commodity (long-term) storage to support its 2000+ research projects and to keep the storage maintained throughout its life. This RFI is for vendors to submit information on the ability to provide extended warranty products that will provide maintenance coverage for two years on VINCI s storage hardware which is used as the primary backup location for 1.2 Pedaytes (PB) of data. VINCI currently does not have a service agreement for this hardware, presenting risk to the VA. This procurement specifically is for two (2) years of protection on the 4X6 Windows Storage Spaces (WSS) which serves as the primary VINCI backup location comprised of six (6) DataON DNS-2673 4U 70-bay 3.5"" Dual I/OM 12G SAS JBOD Enclosures.
