Please review the attached Statement of Work attached herein. STATEMENT OF WORK FOR VEIN FINDER VISN 2, JJP VAMC JJP VA Medical Center is requesting equipment for the following purpose: To facilitate health care practitioners to find patient s veins efficiently and quickly. At a busy hospital, difficult sticks can quickly trigger a cascade of clinical and operational issues. Escalation calls to other clinical staff not only delay treatment, they too often lead to more invasive procedures that may increase the risk of infections, catheter failures, longer hospitalizations, and other complications. Currently hospital phlebotomist palpates the patient s arm to find vein access. This procedure is not as efficient when patients with frequent blood draws and smaller veins are drawn. These patients are poked several times to get their blood drawn. A vein finder will improve this process. A vein finder is a portable device used on the surface of the skin to display veins in real time for venipuncture. A near-infrared (NIR) vein visualization technology is a simple, safe solution that can increase staff proficiency in PIVC assessment, help avoid patient complications, and address clinical and operational priorities. Salient Characteristics: A near-infrared (NIR) vein visualization technology that makes superficial veins, bifurcations, and values visible to the naked eye. Hand-held: small and lightweight to support rapid assessment Hands-free: can be easily inserted in a stand for assessment and cannula placement Highly accurate and permanently aligned: no calibration required Movement tolerant: high-speed image processing delivers real-time image, regardless of patient or clinician movement Superior design: no skin contact required and no internal cooling fan or venting Patented laser-generated image: eye-safe under all operating conditions Works with all skin tones: uniform image Preserve vein health Desktop charging cradle Compatible movable stand 1.
