- Description
- With this Request for Information (RFI), NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center (GSFC) is seeking information from potential providers of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and related services in support of future NASA GSFC programs and projects in accordance with the recently released NASA Technical Standards NASA-STD-6030, Additive Manufacturing Requirements for Spaceflight Systems, and NASA-STD-6033, Additive Manufacturing Requirements for Equipment and Facility Control. Over the last 10 years, a number of AM technology and material systems have reach sufficient maturity that they can be used to produce high reliability parts for critical spaceflight applications. Up until recently, there had been few comprehensive sets of AM requirements that govern the design and manufacture of AM parts. As such, the use of these technologies has been relatively limited. The release of NASA-STD-6030 and NASA-STD-6033 opens the door for much more widespread use of AM for NASAs spaceflight systems. See Attachment ""Additive Manufacturing and Related Services for GSFC Spaceflight Hardware"" for more information on the information requested andinstructions for response submittal.
