- The Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Thoracic and GI Malignancies Branch (TGMB)plans to procure, on a sole source basis, maintenance Services for one (1) Leica Basic Module TCS SP8 LIAchroic (S/N SP8 8100001624) and one (1) Leica White Light Laser TCS SP8 x Falcon DMi8 WLL (S/N SP8 8110002578) from Leica Microsystems Inc. of 1700 Leider Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. The response close date of the notice for this requirement is in accordance with FAR 5.203(b). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1); and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System code is 811219 and the small business size standard is $22.0 Million.� This service contract is for existing Leica Basic Module TCS SP8 LIAchroic (SP8 8100001624) and White Light Laser TCS SP8 x Falcon DMi8 WLL (SP8 8110002578) Confocal Microscopes. These microscopes require intense upkeep and service. This service contract is necessary for the continuous proper function of the microscopes. Leica Microsystems Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of Leica Confocal & Leica Advanced Fluorescents Microscopes and their highly trained service engineers are factory certified to repair and provide unmatched knowledge of Leica Confocal & Leica Advanced Fluorescents Microscopes Systems. As the equipment manufacturer, their employees have the requisite training to provide specialized service on this equipment. They also own the proprietary software LASX that enables them to provide the required support for these devices. The anticipated award will be a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order for severable services, with an anticipated Period of Performance of one (1) twelve-Month Base Period. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party, especially a small business, believes it can meet the above requirements, it may submit a proposal or quote for the Government to consider. The response and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient details to allow NCI to determine if the party can perform all aspects of the requirement in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW). �All responses and questions must be sent via email to Contract Specialist, John Russell, at john.russell3@nih.gov by no later than 10:00 AM EST, on Thursday, August 05, 2021 (8/05/21). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, Contractors must be registered and have valid certification through SAM.GOV.
