Description

Mail meter that is capable of printing postage for all services offered at the center. These services are to include, but not limited to: Business Reply Mail, Certified Mail, Express Mail, First Class Mail, and International Mail. The postal meter must be capable of handling 200 mail/pieces a week and approximately100 shipments a month. The meter must be capable of weighing packages to accurately price shipping labels. Equipment should also include the capability to maintain daily records of the postage, in order for the staff to later review and analyze. Information in the analysis will be used to identify large volume mailers, and mailers that use large amounts of certain classes of mail or special postal services to better assist our operation in saving money. This equipment should be capable of reading tracking barcodes to easily identify delivered items. As well as capture and store signatures for those accepting the mail. This is to allow for better tracking of receipt and delivery of packages. Once received, Mail Clerks will require training on how to operate the new equipment. Thistraining should cover basic operations of the mail meter and tracking system to successfullycomplete their everyday duties.
