- NEW QUESTIONS � 1 FEBRUARY 2021 Question: What is the distance from the closest side wall?� If a vertical exhaust is required, what is the height and composition of the hanger roof?� We also note that the room will contain a ""ductless"" fume hood, with an integral activated carbon filter.� It would be possible to utilize a similar, larger carbon fume scrubber system to eliminate the need for an external duct.� Is this an option? Answer: The site of the clean room is inside a shop space within hangar 1000. The shop space is 15� front floor to overhead. The closet wall is approximately 2� distance. The clean room itself will have a built in HVAC with an exhaust vent to exchange air inside the room. Exhaust fumes would be carried vertically.� As long as the air is HEPA filtered to meet the ISO req, the carbon filter would be fine for the fumes. NEW QUESTIONS � 25 JANUARY 2021 Question 1: What is the Heat Load generated by Owner Equipment in the Cleanroom (kW)? Sensible? Latent? Answer 1: Unknown. Hot bonders using heat blankets ranging in size from 3�x6� to 18�x18� with a watt density of ~6 W/sq. in. will be used for curing of materials. Typical cures range from 180F-250F for 1-6 hours. Heat lamps will also sometimes be used up to 160F for 1-4 hours at a time. Estimate curing of materials to be less than 25% of usage time. Additional equipment in room consists of fume hood Question 2: RH Requirement.� As stated in the RFP, is that range of no less than 50% and no greater than 65%? Or is there a tighter tolerance such as +- 5% at a specific value? Answer 2: Clean room environment should fall within normal operating conditions box of 0-65% RH at 65F to 0-50% RH at 75F. Question 3: Is none of the air to be recirculated?� It states in the RFP 3-5 air changes per hour with no recycled air, please confirm.� Answer 3: No air to be recycled. Fumes generated during mixing and curing process need to be removed from layup area. Question 4: Is the make-up air for the HVAC equipment we are to provide to be outside air?� If inside air can be used and it is conditioned can you provide year-round temp and RH conditions? Answer 4: The inside space is environmentally controlled. Question 5: What is the exhaust CFM for the fume hood? Answer 5: AirClean Systems Model Number AC770C (502 CFM) Includes carbon filtration, not vented outside the clean room. NEW QUESTIONS � 14 JANUARY 2021 Question 1: Can the unit be driven into place with the hangar via truck? Answer 1: The unit can be delivered into place in sections. The opening is only 8� wide. Be advised that there is no overhead hoist in the space that the unit is assembled and installed. � Question 2: What scope is involved with relocating electrical and pneumatic shop air? Answer 2: Electrical outlets are already in the perimeter of the space. The contractor will need to use the existing outlets to relocate proper connections needed for the unit. Pneumatic shop air already exists in the perimeter of the space. The contractor will need to use the existing pipe source to add additional piping to the needed locations of the unit. Question 3: Is there a floorplan available? Answer 3: A blueprint is not available but the overall dimensions of open space to work in is 32� wide x 24� length x 11� high and an 8� wide doorway access with 13� overhead. Question 4: What will be the main usage of the building? Answer 4: The usage of the building is to perform wet lay up for composite repairs to aeronautical parts. Question 5: Is the 3 month delivery after approval of final design? Answer 5: Final designs shall be submitted with the proposal no later than 3 February 2021. The successful offeror will have 160 days after contract award to complete all work. See attached RFQ - N6833521Q0025. Please note: The ONLY Point of Contact for this RFQ is Michael Miller, Michael.T.Miller7@navy.mil or 240-587-1407. Below are a list of questions received in response to the solicitation. Question 1: Please confirm our scope of work on site? Are we to simply deliver the unit to a set location, or are we required to make utility connections, etc. Answer 1: The scope of work on site it to deliver, build, and install a custom sized Modular Clean Room in a designated space inside Hangar 1000 at NAS Jacksonville. The contractor will be required to relocate electrical and pneumatic shop air that already exist within the designated space for required utilities for the Clean Room. Question 2: Should unit be designed to sit directly atop an existing surface or will a foundation be provided? If foundation, what type of foundation and who is responsible to design and install?�� Answer 2: The Modular Clean Room will sit directly on top of an existing flat, level, solid concrete floor. The designated space does not have a false floor. The P-8 Fleet Support Team Logistics Specialist is responsible for the design of the Clean Room and the contractor is responsible for the installation.����� Question 3: Has a budget been established? Answer 3: As stated in Section M, page 43 of N68335-21-Q-0025, award will made to the responsible offeror proposing the total lowest price for supplies meeting the requirements of the solicitation.�
