Description

This Request for Information (RFI) is for market research, information and planning purposes ONLY. This RFI does not in any way constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) and as such, shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The mission of the Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is to protect the safety and health of the nation�s miners through the provisions of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, the Miner Act of 2006, and to: Enforce compliance with mandatory safety and health standards as a means to eliminate fatal accidents; Reduce the frequency and severity of nonfatal accidents; Minimize health hazards; and Promote improved safety and health conditions in the Nation�s mines.� A draft copy of the SOW is attached, but the objectives of the requirement are to: Provide MSHA with the identification of areas within a five state mining area where the mining sector may expand operations under the new Presidential Infrastructure Bill. Communicate and network with unions, apprenticeship programs, workforce development agencies, colleges and universities about MSHA recruitment and office infrastructure strategy. Assist with the implementation of re-training and Black Lung health strategies, where needed. Work with Navajo Nation Tribal Government on health services coordination, coal miner health services, and other federal government services needed for miners, their families and the community.
