- SPECIAL NOTICE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District (USACE) will be soliciting proposals for the construction of a Mission Support Group Facility at Minneapolis, MN. As part of the construction contract solicitation, the USACE intends to include the following sole source requirements: Telecommunications: The design and specifications for this construction project will require CISCO telecommunications equipment for the construction of a new Mission Support Group Facility at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Air Reserve Station, Minnesota. The government will not purchase the CISCO equipment directly but will include brand name specifications in the design-bid-build construction solicitation that will result in a firm fixed price construction contract. CISOC is the only telecommunication equipment currently compatible with the installation network. Fire Alarm/Mass Notification System: The contract solicitation will include a sole-source brand requirement for Monaco MAAP X fire alarm panel and associated alarm signaling. Monaco fire alarm and signaling equipment is the only system compatible with the installation fire protection standards. � Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E): The project specifications include multiple instances where a name-brand product description is used to describe the project�s FF&E requirements, including office chairs, desks, systems furniture, demountable partitions, and storage, among other furniture and equipment items. In each case, a minimum of three products, by three separate manufacturers are cited. The manufacturers / brand names used in the design are necessary in accordance with UFC 3-120-10 Interior Design, Chapter 2 paragraph �Interior Designer Qualifications� in order produce a complete FF&E package. Utility: CenterPoint Energy (gas utility) is the only provider of utlity services for the installation area.
