Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to award a fixed price contract for fiber optic maintenance on the legacy F-18C/Ds for the APG-79 v(4) radar upgrade in order for the fleet to properly test and maintain the newly introduced fiber optics of the F-18C/D aircraft. This equipment consist of up to eight (8) Fiber Optic Inspection Sets (Part Number: 74D740515-1001), eight (8) Fiber Optic Test Sets (Part Number: 74D740514-1001), eight (8) Fiber Optic Visual Fault Finders and eight (8) Fiber Optic Test Leads.� As the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), The Boeing Company (CAGE 0PXV4) is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the fiber optic maintenance equipment needed. As the OEM of this equipment, The Boeing Company is the only qualified manufacturer and supplier of the fiber optic maintenance equipment listed above.� The Boeing Company the only known source that is capable of providing the fiber optic maintenance equipment with the same form, fit and function that is compatible with the fiber optics of the F-18C/D aircraft.� As such, The Boeing Company is the only firm that possesses the necessary technical knowledge and proprietary source data with regard to design, operations, maintenance, and systems integration requirements necessary to produce the Government's requirements.� The Government does not possess a technical data package to permit the development of the required support/services by any other sources than the OEM.� There are no planned future requirements for this item at this time. Therefore, this action will be an establishment of a sole source contract action to The Boeing Company, 6200 James S Mcdonnell BLVD, Saint Louis, Missouri 63134-1939 (Cage Code 0PXV4). � NAWCADLKE intends to award this order under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice.� A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� No solicitation will be available for this procurement.� �
