- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), intends to issue an award to Gibbs Technology, Inc. dba GFI Digital on a sole source basis for the maintenance of a RICOH high-speed production printer. �Award will be made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), soliciting from a single source. For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., exclusive maintenance agreements, brand-name). The NOD PMC currently has in production seven Ricoh Pro high-speed printers for which maintenance service is contracted with Gibbs Technology, dba GFI Digital. GFI Digital is the only Ricoh authorized dealer with required factory trained and certified Fiery support technicians to meet the requirement for contractor with a local presence. Using GFI Digital to provide maintenance service will facilitate the maintenance of all Ricoh equipment used in the PMC and minimize disruptions from multiple vendors and service technicians. Further, some parts will be interchangeable between the other Ricoh printers which will reduce repair costs and equipment down time if the maintenance service is provided by GFI Digital. Model: RICOH Pro 8110e Production Printer (Serial Number - X766C460001) � �� The Ricoh Pro production printers listed above are the only equipment that meet required print specifications and is compatible with NASS owned finishing equipment. These Ricoh products may only be obtained from an authorized Ricoh dealer. Market research has revealed the Ricoh USA Authorized Dealer for Missouri and Illinois is Gibbs Technology, dba GFI Digital. This also meets the requirement for a vendor with local presence. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. �
