- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer on behalf of its Office of Technology Development intends to award a sole source follow-on Research & Development contract to purchase continued security features suitable for high-speed machine authentication that are exclusive and unique with respect to material, functionality and manufacturing process to ensure further consideration and evaluation as a potential new material for high speed authentication application in US banknotes. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to STA Technologies, Inc. utilizing �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements� IAWFAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Anticipated award date will be September 30, 2021. The vendor will continue to perform Research and Development services in order to continually develop security features suitable for high-speed machine authentication, that are exclusive and unique with respect to material, functionality and manufacturing process to ensure that these materials are available on a large scale and for the Contractor to support the complete integration of the feature technology into the BEP�s final product of a U.S. Federal Reserve Note (FRN). This notice of intent is�NOT a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The solicitation will not be posted. To be considered, responses MUST be received NO LATER THAN 12:00PM, EASTERN STANDARD TIME, August 13, 2021.� Additionally, interested sources must be registered and currently active in the System for Award Management (SAM), found at https://www.beta.sam. Responses MUST be submitted in writing only within the closing date/time of publication of this notice.
