Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.06 and 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is�12305B21Q0043�and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document incorporates those provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-06. The associated NAICS Code is 541380 and the Small Business Size Standard is $16.5 million. Description of Work: The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Appalachian Fruit Research Station�(AFRS) requires construction of 16s and ITS DNA amplicon libraries for paired end sequencing on an Illumina MiSeq using V2 2x250 sequencing chemistry. Bacterial and fungal amplicon library preparation from 863 genomic DNA samples with standard quality and quantity confirmation and including blocking of contaminant (chloroplast, mitochondria, host) sequences with peptide nucleic acids, library normalization and pooling, confirmation of normalization on the Illumina MinISeq� platform using 2x150 sequencing chemistry, paired-end sequencing� chemistry on the Illumina MiSeq platform using V2 2x250, complete bioinformatic analysis which includes both bacterial and fungal taxonomic classification of amplicons using the DADA2 pipeline. Genomic DNA samples will be extracted by ARS and shipped to the vendor. Vendor will construct libraries, confirm library quality/quantity, pool libraries, and sequence library pools on an Illumina MiSeq using V2 2x250 sequencing chemistry. Sequence data and will be de-multiplexed and delivered to ARS by providing a link from which the sequence data (in .fastq format) along with output files from the bioinformatic analysis can be downloaded - See Attachment A - Statement of Work Each process required to complete the requirement� must be addressed and priced separately in the quote. Period of Performance- Date of award to 09/30/2021 Deliverables data should be within 6 to 8 weeks of submission.
