- The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis for the procurement described. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey. This survey is for market research purposes only.� Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information. Requirement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract for elevator modernization at Wilson Lock and Dam, Florence, Alabama*. The contractor would be responsible with providing all material, labor, tools, and equipment necessary to remove the existing elevator components and replace/upgrade with newer components. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The contractor will be responsible for the following types of activities: Removal of existing elevator and related equipment to include disposal of existing equipment; Asbestos abatement as needed to include removal and disposal in accordance with Federal and state regulations; Installation of new equipment in order to provide one (1) complete elevator unit; Replacement/ upgrade of elevator control system, including, but not limited to: free fall breaking system, variable frequency drive (VFD), main drive motor, main motor mechanical stop, fire alarm, ribbon cable, push buttons, seals and conduits; Provision of shop drawings for any purchases or fabrication of new equipment that fits existing structure. *Please note that this description is subject to change. The anticipated NAICS code in 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors) with a size standard of $16.5 million in annual receipts.
