Description
Base Notice: TMS Compatible High-Density EEG Recording System Sources Sought Posted Date: July 30, 2021 Classification Code: 66 Scientific Equipment and Services NAICS Code: 334510 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing NOTICE INFORMATION Agency/Office: National Institutes of Health Location: National Institute on Drug Abuse Title: Automated Electrophoresis System Description(s): The mission of the NIH is to develop, maintain, and renew scientific human resources that will ensure the Nation's capability to prevent disease. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is the lead Federal Agency for research on mental illnesses. The mission of the NIMH is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure. The 2020 NIMH Strategic Plan for Researchs top goal is to define brain mechanisms underlying complex behaviors. The TMS-compatible EEG system in general provides a means to pursue this goal, as EEG concurrently measured while TMS pulses modulate brain networks allows the changes produced by brain stimulation to be observed with millisecond resolution. As such, working in tandem with TMS, the TMS-compatible EEG system provides primary outcome measures for the substudies that make up protocol 18-M-0015, and allows for discovery of specific biomarkers for the antidepressant action of ketamine in protocol 17-M-0060. This TMS-compatible EEG recording system is urgently needed to support the protocols entitled, Neuropharmacologic Imaging and Biomarker Assessments of Response to Acute and Repeated-Dosed Ketamine Infusions in Major Depressive Disorder (17-M-0060), and Development of Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation Techniques (18-M-0015), both of which have been reviewed and approved by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) committee for the Scientific Review of Protocols (CSRP) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) Institutional Review Board (IRB). The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase a Brain Vison actiCHamp Plus 64 System and peripherals or equal TMS-compatible high-density EEG recording system and peripherals. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that equal products must meet are specified in the purchase description.
