Description
Questions concerning the Alarm Monitor System from prospective contractors There are 8 sites that need monitoring, can you be specific about what you need monitored? Intrusion burglar alarm system. Do you want the following extra features that will cost much more: Duress monitoring, recording of alarm set and off times, reports of all activity sent to end user? Monitoring 24/7 only Does the VA have the passwords for the panels? No Is monitoring notification currently done by telephone line, internet, or cell? Telephone line only. How many total panels are there and how many of those will be monitored? There is only one panel, however some have two keypads. Are all systems currently properly working?  Are there pre-existing conditions? Yes. What is the square footage of each facility? The systems are installed, no need for the square footage. Please provide a complete device inventory for each site so bidders know how much work is required and the level of risk for needing to perform a future repair free of charge? The systems are for only monitoring. They will take over what is presently active. How old is each system?  Or what years were they installed? 2014-2015 Miramar and Doral Warehouse 2018. What year was the software last updated and what version is currently being used? Software is the same as when installed. The SOW does detail the VA s expectation for scheduled visits.  Is monthly, quarterly, annual, or only when called visits required? These questions pertain to a maintenance agreement scope. This is only for Monitoring. Confirm that CCTV and Access Control systems are not part of this SOW. They are not. Confirm the VA expects after-hours, weekend, and holiday work to all be completed at no additional charge. Monitoring consist of phone alarm monitoring only. Monitoring does not include repair, response to the locations for any activations of intrusion. Please provide a 3-year history of repair work and emergency calls for each location to include Date, Location, Issue Repair, and Cost. There have been no repairs on Monitoring the system. None of these systems have never failed after being installed. The SOW requires training courses.  1- What is the frequency? Contact the system manufacture for instructions. 2- Duration and locations of the training? The manufacture will guide you if there is one. 3- What are the topics of training for an intrusion system?  How to use it, how to install it, how to program it, how to fix it? 1-If there is any type of training, it will come from the manufacture of the alarm system. 2- VA doesn t train anyone on intrusion alarms installed. 3- The intrusion alarm system manufacture, will guide you best on this question. The SOW mentions meeting attendance.  Are scheduled meeting planned?  If so, what is frequency, duration and locations of the planned meetings?  1- We do not require meeting for monitoring the alarm system. What is the contract numbers for the 1) CCTV and 2) Access Control maintenance contracts? Not required. This is only for monitoring the 8 systems we have active at this time. Monitoring consists of the following. An alarm monitoring company is selected by the contractor. The monitoring company will monitor the systems 24/7 for any activity. They will have activity or arming, disarming, intrusion activity and keep records of all incidents on the system. If an intrusion alarm is activated, they contact names that they have been provided.
