- FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.� Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5) implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, intends to procure, on a sole source or brand name or equal �basis, several components in support of the upcoming construction project for a Low Observable Component Repair Facility at Joint Base Langley-Eustis � Langley Air Force Base. �This supported construction project consists of components that USACE intends to require for specific systems product line. The manufacturer�s product has unique capabilities that meet the user�s stringent requirements for top-quality and secure requirements and maintains compatibility with existing systems. Unless indicated to be as a brand name or equal requirement, the companies listed�below�(see the attachment for specifc details) are the only manufacturer in the industry that manufactures components to meet required specifications and warranty requirements and maintain compatibility with existing systems. The companies listed in the�below are the only manufacturers in the industry that manufacture components to meet required specifications and warranty requirements and maintain compatibility with existing systems. Due to the unique operational requirements, the user requires a homogeneous system that reduces the risk to compatibility/interoperability with existing systems already tested and in use.� The Contracting Officer intends to prepare a Justification and Approval documentation (J&A) which includes brand name (BN) or brand name or equal (BNE) items for the solicitation package.� Items identified as BN or BNE under FAR 6.302-1 and DFARS 206.302-1 (c)(2) are included to sufficiently define the scope of work to be performed, and adequately establish the required level of product quality: 1. Model Number: Provided in attachment � Attach 1 - FFE; Manufacturer: Herman Miller, Haworth, Steelcase, Sit On It, Knoll, Humanscale, Global Industrial, Borroughs, Uline, ALLE, Rubbermade, Magnuson Group:� Description: BNE selections for basis of design for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment 2. Model Number: Provided in attachment - Attach 2 - Door Hardware List; Manufacturer:�ABH Manufacturing Inc., Best Access Systems, National Guard, Precision, Stanley, Trimco; Description:� Door Hardware BNE for identifying standards to follow 3. Model Number:� PM5560, PM8000, ION 8650, 9410, or 9810; Manufacturer:� Schneider Electric, Siemens; Description:�BN Advanced Meter Reading System (AMRS) Electric Meters that are tested and confirmed compatible. 4. Model Number:� ADAM-6051, or IOLAN SDS1P; Manufacturer:��Advantech, Perle; Manufacturer:��BN AMRS translation devices and accumulators that are tested and confirmed compatible with the system.� 5. Model Number:� Varies; Manufacturer:� Best Lock Corporation; Description:��BN required for lock cylinder compatibility with Langley Installation Facility Standards 6. Model Number:��Varies; Manufacturer:��Trane; Description:��BN required for HVAC chiller for compatibility with Langley standards. 7. Model Number:� Apogee; Manufacturer:��Siemens; Description:��BN required for HVAC control systems building automation control for compatibility with Langley systems 8. Model Number:� BTX-M; Manufacturer:��Monaco; Description:��BN fire protection transceiver/antenna required for compatibility with Langley system 9. Model Number:� Eagle Quantum Premier; Manufacturer:��Det-tronics; Description:��BN releasing service fire alarm control unit required by UFC 4-211-01 10. Model Number:� X3301; Manufacturer:� �Det-tronics; Description:��BN Optical Flam detection required by UFC 4-211-01 All potential responsible sources wishing to demonstrate ability to meet the agency�s requirements may submit a written response with technical capabilities statement, which if timely received, will be considered by the agency.� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.� It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above.� The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. This Notice of Intent is hereby published in accordance with FAR 5.201. A determination by the Government not to compete the elements of the project listed in the table above based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
