- Description
- 2 ThermoFisher Ion Chef and Ion GeneStudio S5 Sequencer VA SeqForce Program Durham VA Health Care Systems Summary of Requirement The Durham VA Health Care System is a member of a consortium of genomic sequencing laboratories in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The Laboratories will conduct genomic sequencing to provide regional VA medical centers access to variant strain detection. To date, the VA SeqForce program includes 4 VA Medical Centers are participating nationally with a go-live date of July 1, 2021. The VA SeqForce program will support the evolving variant data needs for managing the COVID pandemic and create a repository of viral sequencing data for global and VA uses (clinical, research, and epidemiological). The instrumentation and reagents for COVID sequencing will be established as required by the Central VA Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. The following instruments will be required for the sequencing testing: Qubit Flex, ThermoFisher Ion Torrent Chef System, and the Ion GeneStudio S5 System. The QuBit is Fluorometer detects fluorescent dyes to quickly and specifically quantity RNA. Adequate RNA quantification is necessary to ensure successful downstream sequencing. The ThermoFisher Ion Torrent Chef System simplifies the workflow for the Ion Torrent S5 System by providing automated, walk-away workflow for the AmpliSeq library preparation and reproducible template preparation and chip loading. The Ion Chef System reduces run variability and hands on time. The Ion GeneStudio S5 System utilizes next generation sequencing for targeted COVID gene sequencing. 2.0 Scope The vendor shall be required to furnish all items, to include but not limited to, project management, labor, equipment materials, travel and any incidental required to satisfy the requirements of this Statement of Work. The Contractor shall be required to be responsible for timely delivery, installation, and training to ensure the successful completion of the task as outlined in the Statement of Work. Contractor shall provide in accordance with the specifications outlined below, Qubit Flex, Qubit assay reagent kit for RNA, Ion Chef System and installation kit, Ion GeneStudio S5 Prime System and installation kit, and the SmartStart Ampliseq kits to support laboratory COVID sequencing testing. The reagents and controls must be provided to Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Services (P&LMS) 113, Microbiology, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705. The vendor will provide the facility with all reagents and controls on or before the contract effective date, unless an alternate date is agreed upon by the vendor and the Government. Vendor must list the consumable parts provided if applicable. 3.0 Supply Requirements The vendor is required to provide reagents, controls, supplies, disposables, and any other materials on an as needed basis required to support laboratory testing. These items shall be of the highest quality, sensitivity, specificity and tested to assure precision and accuracy. Expiration dates must be marked on supplies, reagents, and controls. Alert/Notification of any delays in shipment as well as any or all technical advisory/recalls/alerts, prior to or simultaneously with field alerts should be forwarded to the designated individuals determined at contract award. In the event the consumables are found to be defective and unsuitable for use, or the vendor has failed to comply with the requirements for routine supply delivery, the vendor shall deliver the consumable supplies within a period of 24 hours after receipt of the verbal order for priority delivery from the facility.
