This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, VHA is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Interested vendors are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested partys expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Background: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) lacks an enterprise level reverse logistics solution that adequately meets the needs of the organization. Scope of Work: VHA has identified various benefits associated with implementing program of this magnitude while linking operations directly with VAs Strategic Goals of proving excellent customer service, accountability and seeking to transform business operations. These benefits are enterprise-wide; Operational Benefits: Elimination of need for localized off-site storage for personal property awaiting disposition Increased supply chain resiliency through strategic reserve and parts & spares depot Oversight Benefits Improve upon exchange/sale process by centralizing and simplifying procedures Facility property dispositioned off-site in compliance with regulations Financial Benefits: Sell high value assets to receive the greatest return on investment Enables VHA equipment portfolio management strategy Cost efficiencies from utilization
