This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2086480 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-06 July 12, 2021. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541380, Testing Laboratories, with a small business size standard of $16.5 million. The requirement is being competed full and open competition, un-restricted and without a small business set-aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement for: Line 1: Library QC, Qty 100 each Line 2: NovaSeq PE150 (1 Lane), Qty 10 each Line 3: Data quality control, Qty 10 each Line 4: Index demultiplexing, Qty 10 each Line 5: FTP, Qty 1 each This requirement is to send 100 samples of RNA from single cells from cell culture and mouse tissue that are Ehrlichia-infected and uninfected controls single cell RNA-sequencing to evaluate the transcriptional profile of arthropod cells infected with Ehrlichia and the cutaneous immune response during tick transmission of Ehrlichia. We require the NovaSeq PE150 read size or larger (larger fragments of DNA map to the genome with fewer false positive errors than smaller fragments) We need a lab that is operating at full capacity now- during the COVID19 crisis-most companies that run labs in the USA are not fully staffed now. We need a company that is willing to accept samples that were infected with a BSL2 pathogen but have been decontaminated. We need enough depth and breathe of reads for us to see all the genetic changes. Most companies are selling 6G of raw data, but we need 6G of raw data per sample that will give us the coverage we need. We require a company that can sequence all large groups of samples at the same time- running samples in batches increases noise in the sequencing that may result in false readings of gene changes We require quantification analysis of the data, which requires bioinformatics knowledge and computers with sufficient processing power to run these analyses We need a company the is reliable, has low error rate and is known by other PIs at NIAID working with infectious diseases.
