Statement of Requirements Multifunctional, Wide Format Color Printer 1. Introduction The Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVAMC), Kansas City, Missouri has requirements to replace the existing VA Owned Multifunctional Wide Format Color Printing System, and Black and White Printer/Copier/Scan Equipment with a new Plotter. The new Plotter and printing system must meet or exceed the features of an HP Designjet XL 3600 MFP for the following model listed below in the Attachment One Section. 1.1 Background The Kansas City VA Medical Center provides a wide range of services including traditional hospital-based services such as surgery, critical care, mental health, orthopedics, pharmacy, radiology and physical therapy. Facilities Management Service is responsible to maintain the Medical Center Facility and to make sure the Medical Center can stay up to date with the needs of the Veterans. One of its main function is making sure the using services in the facility have all the necessary resources and utilities available to keep current with the ever-advancing medical technology. Multifunctional copiers/printers are critical tools used for the maintenance, operation and renovations of a large Medical Center complex. The existing OCE Color Wave Multifunction Printers/Copier, located in the Projects Section offices, continues to malfunction and tends to break down when it s needed most. It will be replaced with the new Multifunction Printer/Copier (also known as MFP, All in One), from this procurement. 2. Scope Contractor shall disconnect the existing VA Owned Multifunctional Wide Format Color Printing System and replace with a printing system that meets or exceeds model/features for the printer listed below. Must Meet or Exceed Name Brand HP DesignJet XL 3600 MFP 36 Color Print/Copy/Scan capabilities 15 Touchscreen Interface Automatic Front Media Loading (500ft rolls) Integrated Rear Stacker (100 sheets) 6-inks: MB/PB/G/C/M/Y (300 ml) 128 GB / 500 GB hard disk Fast first page out, in 29 seconds or less. Simple and fast batch PDF printing using HP Click software. Quick access to personal and group folders from the 15 touchscreen interface. Automated scanning for easy digitizing, user-centric quicksets, and post-editing. Built with a robust design for demanding environments. 30% smaller footprint than standard printing system and quite operation. Automatic media loading and print stacking up to 100 pages. Uses up to 10x less energy. Secure large-format printer Network protection with features like HP Secure Boot and whitelisting. Printer access control for confidential documents with secure user authentication. HP JetAdvantage Security Manager. A responsive and professional copier service company will be required to provide a 5-year maintenance service. The 5-year service will include all parts, labor, tools and travel. Ink, printheads and paper will be purchased separately. The contractor must be able to provide urgent response for repairs when the copier/printer is malfunctioning or not functioning.
