- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. This request for information is for United States Government planning purposes only. In accordance with FAR Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Government is conducting market research to determine the availability and adequacy of potential business sources in providing the capabilities to meet the requirements of the Government. This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a competitive contract. The Airfield Operations Accelerator (AO-X), Hanscom AFB, is standing up an Airfield Operations (AO) testbed to help accelerate change across the AO community. The AO testbed will rapidly prototype tools and processes aimed at solving problems for the AO community. AO-X seeks an Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulator for use in the AO testbed environment. This ATC simulator will be used to explore how the ATC community trains its students, explore the development of improved training methods to scale across the Air Force, and implement solutions in existing Air Force training environments. Technical requirements for the ATC simulator include: �Small footprint� using desktop computer and monitors (not a full Tower Simulation System with �wall-to-wall� visual display) 180-degree simulated view Speech recognition Ability to display radar and weather data Ability to train both local and ground control positions Include Air Force-specific training scenarios Compatibility with current Air Force tower training systems Responses to this RFI are requested to be submitted by email to Capt Andrew Bettinger (andrew.bettinger.1@us.af.mil) AND Mr. Perry Shoemaker (perry.shoemaker@us.af.mil) NLT 1600 EST on 20 August 2021 (early responses will be accepted).
