Description
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS / QUOTES / PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Acquisition on behalf of the Office of Production Engineering intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for professional maintenance, repair and technical support for on-site services for the sustainment and enhancement of the BPS 3000 and BPS 2000 Inspection Equipment. The intended contractor is Giesecke & Devrient Currency Technology America, Inc. (GDAI), 45925 Horseshoe Drive, Dulles, VA 20166. The Government intends to award this contract utilizing Justification & Approval in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 15.002(a). �Anticipated ordering periods of performance will consist of (1) Base Year of 12 months and four (4) 12-month option years. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811310 and the size standard is $8,000,000.00.� The BEP uses manufacture Federal Reserve Notes and other security products for the United States. These products are designed with advanced counterfeit deterrence features to ensure product integrity and manufactured to specifications and in quantities as ordered by its customers, primarily the Federal Reserve Bank system (FRB).� Current inspection systems allow for defect detection on 32-Subject and 50-Subject Sheets of currency.� If any notes on a sheet are determined to have a defect, the entire sheet is defective.� Single Note Inspection on BPS 2000 equipment allows the BEP to process individual notes and reclaim �good� notes for distribution to the FRB.� Quality Inspection checks on BPS 3000 allows BEP to do a final test of printed loads prior to disbursement to the Federal Reserve Banks.� This allows for a more cost efficient program.� A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. Responses MUST be received NO LATER THAN 3:00PM, EASTERN, August 16, 2021. Additionally, interested sources must be registered and currently active in the System for Award Management (SAM), found at https://www.sam.gov. Responses MUST be submitted in writing only via email within the closing date/time of publication of this notice.
