Description
The Brooksville, FL NRCS Plant Materials Center (PMC) operates a solid-set sprinkler irrigation system that is used to irrigate a total of 8 zones ranging in size from 2 to 4 areas. An existing well provides the irrigation water on demand via an inoperable turbine pump/motor. The Contractor is responsible for designing, furnishing, and installing a new electric motor and turbine pump with a pump control system designed to operate one turbine irrigation pump using a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) (capable of providing variable flow and variable pressure) and a rain sensor capable of shutting off the system during rain events. The pump control system must have the capabilities to utilize proven technology in control design for a combination of flow and pressure ranges to provide the desired operating conditions of the pumping system. The pump and control system must be operator and maintenance friendly to ensure ease of system setup and maintenance and to limit down time. The Contractor will develop and provide a site-specific operation and maintenance (O&M) plan for the irrigation pump/motor and VFD controls to FL NRCS. The factory assembled system must include: Variable Frequency Drive VFD protection package Line and load reactor as required Lightning arrestors Pressure transducer and flow meter Enclosure Main disconnects Circuit breaker Alarm The contractor will be responsible for disconnecting the existing motor and from all electrical connections and all control panels and pulling and removing existing pump. The existing pump, motor, electrical components, and appurtenances are located within an existing pumphouse. All removed pumps, motors, and appurtenances will become property of the Contractor, removed from the property, and disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Contractor will furnish all personnel, equipment, labor, materials, transportation, office space, and other incidentals as required to perform the work. Vendors are encouraged to inspect the site where the work will be performed. An organized site visit has been scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM local time. Participants should plan to meet at Brooksville Plant Materials Center 14119 Broad St.Brooksville, FL 34601. POC for the Site Visit will be M.J. Williams(PMC Manager) Phone:(352) 796-9600 ext:3831. The estimated value of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
