Description

The Pacific Northwest Research Station (PNW), Corvallis Forestry Sciences Laboratory (PWFSL) � Corvallis, OR intends to issue a firm fixed price, sole source award to Neogen| GeneSeek Inc., 4131 N. 48th Street Lincoln, NE 68504 for �MassArray� assay for individualization and spatial localization using range-wide� DNA sampling for Thuja plicata (Western Red Cedar) - THPL and Juglans Nigra (Eastern Black Walnut) JUNI.� This effort is support of the U.S. Department of Justice�s enforcement of the U.S Lacey Act Amendment of 2008. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). Neogen| GeneSeek Inc. has extensive experience designing MassArray genetic assays for a variety of crop plants, including trees and as the necessary proprietary software to handle non-model organisms.� Of critical importance, Neogen|GeneSeek has already developed genetic assays for other important timber species (Big Leaf Maple, Spanish Cedar; White Oaks) and these assays have all be tested on leaf- and wood-derived DNA.� As this work is being done as part of a larger law enforcement database, it is essential for all data to reported identically and is therefore authorized under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The anticipated award date is August 20, 2021. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541380 and the size standard is $15,000,000.00. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement was based market research. A solicitation will not be issued. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
