- Page 1 of 2 CONTINUATION OF PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Project No. 526-13-108; Correct Safety Deficiencies at Loading Dock at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York. CORRECT SAFETY DEFICIENCIES AT LOADING DOCK SCOPE OF WORK Contractor to provide labor, material and supervision to resurface and repair existing loading dock deck/platform, replace loading dock roadways, install new security and warehouse storage building, demo existing brick building storage structure, and modernize the existing Loading Dock area as described in the design drawings and specifications. Work includes but is not limited to resurfacing the existing loading dock roadway that is deteriorated and in need of major repairs, providing upgrades to the existing loading dock area lighting and heating at the loading dock platform, in order to ensure the safety of warehouse personnel, contractors and delivery drivers in inclement weather conditions. In addition, the project includes refurbishing the existing loading dock roof/canopy with new ceiling grid, tiles, and light fixtures. Contractor shall coordinate all work with the Warehouse Personnel, VA Police, and the Project COR, in order to maintain access to the loading dock areas while construction is underway. Contractor must ensure that daily loading dock activities are not hindered or adversely affected by construction and some weekend work may be required in order to complete certain project tasks. This project will be completed in several phases in order to maintain loading dock access for daily shipments/deliveries and the contractor is expected to work with VA personnel in order to accomplish this successfully. Notable skill trades: General Construction and Concrete Repair work Applicable NAICS Code: 236220. All proper infection control and life safety measure will be provided and coordinated with Infection Control and Safety Officer. Contractor must ensure that work site is left safe for pedestrians and vehicles at the end of each work day, and also provide temporary safety measures including temporary lighting and steel plates for affected areas and roadways. Estimated Completion Time: 445 Calendar Days from receipt of NTP. Award will depend on availability of funds at time of award. This procurement is a 100% set-aside for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and certified in the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) VetBiz Registry database prior to submitting a bid: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to contract award: https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ Bids will only be accepted from SDVOSBs that are determined to be responsible and responsive contractors. Prospective contractors must be approved under NAICS Code 236220, Size Standard of $36.5 Million. The NAICS Code selected has been approved as the most appropriate for the project related tasks and SOW. This NAICS Code will not be subject for discussion or change. The cost range for this project is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. A bid bond will be required, and performance and payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The solicitation will be released on or around October 6, 2017. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. Bidders are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time of bid opening.
