Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention�s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Department intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Fisher Scientific Company, LLC for an applied Biosystems QuantStudio 7 Pro Real-Time PCR System, 384-well. The Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 7 Pro is an innovation real-time PCR system that provides an all-in-one compact instrument with multiplex capability, motorized interchangeable blocks, simplified workflow, intuitive software, automation capabilities, and large capacitive touch-screen interface. Applied Biosystems was selected as they were the only manufacturer the offer systems with interchangeable block formats (both 96-well and 384-well). Both formats are used readily in our laboratory and this feature is a must-have for our needs. The QuantStudio 7 Pro system accommodates the interchange of 96-well (0.2 mL), 96-well (0.1 mL), 384-well, as well as TaqMan array card (TAC) blocks, which will be of great utility in future planned studies. Other units on the market were only capable of single block formats, which would require multiple instruments to perform the analyses needed in our lab. The QuantStudio 7 Pro meets all the needs of our lab in one easy to use instrument which is compact and requires a small laboratory footprint. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. �Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to the Contract Specialist at qoh1@cdc.gov by COB 20 August 2021.
