Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 2 is issuing this sources-sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support a requirement for elevator inspection services, at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (130 West Kingsbridge Road Bronx, NY 10468). The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance. STATEMENT OF NEED: The James J. Peters VA Medical Center anticipates a requirement for elevator inspection services once a year. Contractor will observe and inspect the Service Company during performance of five-year load tests when applicable and annual safety test of elevators and dumbwaiters in accordance with all the terms, conditions, provisions, specifications, and schedules. Specifications include the semi-annual inspections of elevators and dumbwaiters, the annual tests of governor and safety devices, of elevators and dumbwaiters during the period of January 1st through December 31st for the base year period and four option periods. Inspections and documentation shall be in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers A17.1, A17.2, A17.3, A17.4 most recent edition and addenda standard. The Contractor must be able to provide proof of QE-1 certification. The inventory of vertical transportation subject to inspection includes passenger, freight, hydraulic, and dumbwaiter types and Otis Elevator Company, Curtis Elevator Cab Co., Inc., Serge Elevator Co. Inc., Thyssenkrupp (Endura 30A), and Matot, Inc. brands. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. The government will evaluate market information to ascertain potential market capacity to provide services consistent in scope and scale with those described in this notice and otherwise anticipated. Based on the responses to this sources-sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions.
