- Presolicitation Notice of Intent to Sole Source Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for three (3) months with Molecular Devices, LLC, 3860 N First St San Jose, CA, 95134-1702, DUNS# 125123125 and ueiSAM: L64RUJ7LC8T9. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain delivery of two (2) 700B Multiclamp Amplifier systems to Connecticut Mental Health Center, 899 Howard Avenue, Room 218, New Haven, CT, 06519. The Multiclamp 700B amplifier is a computer-controlled amplifier capable of single-channel and whole-cell voltage patch-clamp and high-speed current clamp. It is an essential piece of equipment for experimental electrophysiology research laboratories. Because Molecular Devices, LLC is the only vendor/contractor that can provide the Multiclamp 700B Amplifier system, this acquisition will not be competed. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to SAM.gov, Contracting Opportunities. A Sources Sought Notice published to SAM.gov on 8/5/2021 under #36C241Q0725, returned no results other than from AutoMate Scientific, Inc. The NAICS is 334516. The size standard is 1000 employees. The PSC/FSC is 6635. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
