- SOURCE SOUGHT NOTICE Service Maintenance Agreement Becton Dickenson, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) Lasers. This is a Sources Sought Notice; it is not a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) Service area is seeking sources to perform Service Maintenance Agreement Becton Dickenson, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) Lasers. The requirements are as follows: 1. Contract Title. Service Maintenance Agreement Becton Dickenson, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) Lasers. 2. Background. The Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) Research & Development (R&D) Service has a compelling need for a service agreement for the Becton Dickenson Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS). The acquisition of a service agreement would ensure continued productivity and savings in man-hours, as well as allowing for maximal utilization of the machine by the major user group and other VAMHCS investigators. 3. Scope. This request will extend the maintenance agreement on the 3 excitation lasers (488 nm blue, 640 nm red, 405 nm violet) in 2 used to sort cells based upon fluorescence from the most common fluorophores, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and phycoerythrin (PE) lasers as needed. 4. Specific Tasks. The contractor shall provide the service maintenance for Becton Dickinson (BD) FACSMelodyTM Cell Sorter excitation lasers from Becton Dickinson as part of the Research Core Facility for VA investigators at the VAMHCS. The major components of this service include the maintenance of the lasers on the FACSMelody TM Cell Sorter (PIC Mini 488-20 Blue Laser Item #661964, PIC Mini 640-45 Red Laser Item#661965 and PIC Mini 405-45 Violet Laser Item #661963). Hourly rate for labor and travel for service provided on weekends and holidays, minimum 4 hours labor and travel combined. Unlimited telephone support for instruments, reagents and applications will be provided at no additional charge. Workstation printers are not covered. Site of Delivery: Baltimore VAMC Bressler Research Building Research & Development Service, 3rd floor 9th Floor 10 N. Greene St. 655 W. Baltimore St Baltimore, MD 21201 Baltimore, MD 21201 5. Performance Monitoring: The CORE Lab Manager and Research Lab Manager will ensure validity of work in cooperation with sales or technical representative if the need arises. Technical guidance, including an assessment of the need for routine or special maintenance, will be available for the life of the equipment by phone and email for the project. NOTE: Please provide Technician Certifications from BD for approval to work on BD Equipment or, an agreement letter from BD that work can be completed on the equipment being serviced. The anticipated date of a solicitation is August 20, 2021, with an expected period of performance starting September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022, using NAICS CODE 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, size $22 million. Vendors will not receive formal notification or feedback on any information submitted in this Sources Sought Notice. All future proposed submissions and solicitations requirements solicited on a Government Point of Entry (GPE) will be evaluated independently of any information submitted in response to this Sources Sought Notice. No vendor will be provided information on solicitations issued on a Government Point of Entry based on this Sources Sought Notice. Potential Sources shall provide their Capability Statement and it must be clear, concise, and complete.
