- [Type text] Statement of Work Department of Veterans Affairs Long-Term Care Beds for CLC I. Introduction The Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center in Charleston is seeking long-term care beds for the Community Living Center. This includes bed frames, mattresses, lights, handles, and panels. All beds must be safe in design for staff use and constructed of high-quality materials. II. Information: The beds specified will assist our staff to better serve our veteran patients. The design and finish of the beds shall meet infectious control measures and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. Furniture requested shall meet ergonomic standards and guidelines for American with Disabilities Act (ADA). III. Product Specifications and Quantities: Patient Rooms, beds PRODUCT: Frames SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: 600lbs safe working load. Home like environment with customizable color options. Single push button comfort chair, auto transfer height, and gravity assist. Gravity assists repositioning. Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg Low deck height of 7 inches and bed high of 30 inches. Fall prevention bed. Integrated expandable width from 36, 39, 42 with easy pull tab engagement. Expandable deck has visible measurement to ensure proper expansion. As bed is lowered to auto transfer height of 12 inches, the bed will pause before continuing to the 7-inch low bed height. Will facilitate transfers to wheelchair or right height for egress. While in chair mode, the knees down function are locked out to prevent patient sliding. Bed can roll at any height. Two pedal locking system with individual pedals for locking and unlocking. Trapeze pivots to 3 different working positions or you can place trapeze at 45 degrees to allow for use of ceiling lifts. Assist Handles are at ergonomic height and can be removed with no tools. Handles do not pivot in such a way that they will touch the floor. Assist handles are lightweight for easy storage. Assist handles have integrated pendant holders on the inside and outside of handle that are compatible with VA Get Well Network Hand Pendant. This will facilitate patient access to nurse call and controls. Assist handles can be swiveled into position to assist repositioning or egress. Softcare side rails can be removed or placed with no tools. Advanced foot controls are high on the footboard for easier accessibility. EasyLIft Leg Lift that will elevate foot end along with knee gatch for promoting lower extremity venous return. Frame can be extended to 84 or 88 in length. PRODUCT: Mattresses SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Fluid Immersion Simulation Therapy Mattress/Support Surfaces: The surface/mattress must include: Fluid Immersion Simulation Technology Completely autonomic features On board 12 hour battery Control unit must power both mattress and optional wheelchair cushion Provide neutral buoyancy Promote proper tissue symmetry Assist in the elimination of deep tissue shear Promote near normal deep tissue perfusion Be able to accommodate existing bed frames in the medical centers and accommodate electrical functions of the beds (i.e. elevation of head or foot of bed) Support bariatric patients Clinical indicated for the treatment of advance stage wounds, multiple pressure injuries, flaps, skin grafts, and burns. Microclimate Management Patient Lock out control Width requirement up to 36 inches (standard) and up to 48 inches (bariatric) Must have models available for standard, bariatric, pediatric, V-Matt beds as well as wheelchairs Length requirement up to 88 inches Accommodate patients from 5-1000 lbs. ProCair Plus Non-Powered, Convertible Mattress Replacement System with patented P.R.O. technology. Comes standard with control unit that converts the surface to alternating pressure therapy to enhance patient comfort and wound healing as needed. The surface/mattress must include: Three-zoned, 15 cell system (shoulder, torso and foot) inner air core automatically adjusts to individual patient s body profile and weight P.R.O. Technology valve maintains optimal air pressures in each therapy zone for superior pressure redistribution regardless of patient weight and profile One-inch viscoelastic topper enhances pressure redistribution and patient comfort Surrounding firm perimeter to provide stability during patient care and enhance patient safety by eliminating gaps between frames and side rails Requires no caregiver intervention to maintain optimized pressure redistribution in the non-powered mode Available in multiple 36 and 42 width 500 lbs safe working load Meets flammability standards TB 117, TB 129, 16 CFR 1633 and BFD IX-11 GENERAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS: Order to be shipped to Charleston, SC Installation Services - CIS Beds shall meet a 24 /7 hour work day. Beds shall include hardware to install. CLC NM will select finishes with awarded vendor. Furniture order and installation shall be coordinated with CLC Nurse Manager. Confirmation from vendor shall be sent via email to CLC NM. NM will inspect that all products are installed 100%. Upon completion of inspection, COR communicate to Contracting Officer the same authorizing that products have been received complete and payment can be released.
