- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) in Milwaukee, WI is conducting market research with the intent of determining the interest, capabilities, and qualifications of potential businesses for the Landscaping replacement at the grounds of Edwards Hines VA The purpose of this request is to refurbish and upgrade the existing landscaping turf, flower beds, and brick pavers at multiple locations on the Edward Hines Veteran s Campus in Hines, Illinois. The areas to be refurbished are the main entrance located at 5th Av. and Roosevelt Rd, Scott Dr. and Bld 113 This Sources Sought Synopsis is published for market research purposes. This market research will be used to determine if a set-aside for any small business program is appropriate. Proposed project anticipates competitive, firm fixed price contract. Please review this announcement, including all attachments, in their entirety. Request that interested offerors complete and return a Capabilities Statement as described below. Capabilities Statement will be used to identify firms who possess both the capability and experience to provide Remove or replace security gates at the Jesse Brown VA Hospital. The Government is in no way obligated to do business with or to enter into any form of contract with any person, firm or other entity that receives or responds to this announcement. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, labor, vehicles, materials, supervision, transportation and services necessary to effectively, economically, and satisfactorily perform all operations for the landscaping for the Edward Hines VA facility in accordance with the DRAFT Performance Work Statement included in this posting. In addition to the information requested in the paragraph below, entitled ""Capabilities Statement"", responding parties must also indicate their size in relation to the applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The NAICS Code is 561730 with a Size Standard of $11,000,000.00 in revenue. CAPABILITIES STATEMENT Interested parties shall submit a Capabilities Statement, BRIEF and CONCISE, yet clearly demonstrates ability to meet the stated requirements. The Capabilities Statement should clearly present evidence that the interested party feels is relevant. All interested firms responding to this Sources Sought Notice are requested to provide a capability statement which needs to include: - Company Name - Point of Contact Name, Phone Number and Email - Business Status (i.e., 8(a), HUBZone, Woman-owned, SDVOSB, Large, etc.) - Dunn & Bradstreet Number - Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code - Indication of Current Systems for Awards Management (SAM) Registration (i.e., SAM and Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) registration, etc.) - Capabilities statement (i.e., similar government and commercial contracts for Collection, Transportation, and Disposal of Solid Waste, pertinent information, organizational structure, etc.) The period of performance shall be for approximately 2 months. This request is also for a landscaping maintenance contract to maintain the areas listed above. Task 1. Entry Landscape (Roosevelt Entrance) - Install Bluegrass sod on east and west side of campus entrance (approx. 18,350 sq. ft.). - Turf replacement- Sod replacement includes mechanical cutting and removal of all old turf, debris disposal, proper soil preparation and installation of bluegrass sod. - Install water retaining soil moist material capable of holding 5000 gallons of water in flower beds. West side- remove current plants in flower beds, add blended compost, top dress with hardwood shredded mulch (approx. 60 cu yds). Landscape Maintenance Contract: Campus Entry, Scott Drive, and Bld 113 - April thru Nov. - April spring cleanup- removal and disposal of debris that may have accumulated over winter and cutting back any cutting back any remaining perennials or grasses. - Beginning 1st week of May weekly mowing with turf areas cut to 2 3 inches as conditions dictate. - All sidewalks and curbs to be edged as needed to maintain a neat and professional appearance. - All turf areas adjacent to walls, fences, and bed areas shall be trimmed as needed. - A pre-emergent herbicide for the control of crabgrass shall be applied to all turf areas in the spring. - A high-quality turf fertilizer shall be applied to all lawn areas 4 times per year. - All chemicals used shall be applied by licensed personnel. - Fall clean up shall include removal and disposal of leaves and fall debris from plant beds and turf areas. - Any stone or mulch areas will be kept free of weeds. - All personnel, equipment, and supplies to be provided by the contractor. - Base Year cost- - Option Year 1 cost - - Option Year 2 cost - Task 3. Turf, Parking Lot Islands, Along East / West Scott Drive Install new Sod to the parkways along the road separating the parking lots north of Bld 200. Sod replacement includes mechanical cutting and removal of all old turf, 4 inches of gravel (where it exists) and debris disposal, proper soil preparation and installation of approximately 5875 sq ft of bluegrass sod. Task 4. Bld 113 Front Lawn Memorial Area Paver Repair Pressure wash the paver patio around the memorial. Correct the edges and replace a total of 206 pavers as indicated below. Broken Pavers: Twinkies-24 Square-170 Rectangle-12 Task 5. Bld 113 Courtyard Repair Pavers - Raise sunken pavers to proper height. - Apply gravel, sand, and masonry as required to repair sunken and damaged pavers. On South side of Courtyard remove large tree, remove upright yew tree, and install the following plants: Quantity Description 5 Hakone Grass 5 Heuchera Midnight Rose. 5 Hydrangea quercifolia 'Ruby Slippers' 5 Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold' 5 Heuchera 'Midnight Rose' On North side of Courtyard install the following plants: Quantity Description 4 Knock-Out Roses 5 Catmint 5 Russian Sage 5 Nepeta 5 Perovskia Little spire On East side of Courtyard near potting tables install the following plants: Quantity Description 5 30-inch Viburnum carlesii 'Compactum In Center Courtyard Flower Bed remove 7 boxwood shrubs and install the following plants: Quantity Description 8 30-inch Buxus Green Mountain It shall be the contractor s responsibility to ensure that all equipment, supplies and or materials required during the performance of the work comply with all conformance standards in the industry. Services shall be completed within 60 days of contract award. Warranty All plants, trees, and shrubs to be warrantied for 1 year.
