Description
The mission of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) is to protect society by confining offenders in the controlled environments of prisons and community-based facilities that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, and that provide work and other self-improvement opportunities to assist offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens. The Bureau has 122 prisons of various security levels, offering programming in many different areas including drug treatment, trauma services, and other evidence-based psychology groups such as Anger Management. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), National Acquisitions Section, Contracting Office, Washington, D.C. is seeking quotes for services of a Contractor with a doctoral-level education and a demonstrated body of research related to anger.� The Contractor must possess expertise in the field of anger management programming and must have experience in conducting studies on program evaluation.� Variables of interest in include symptom reduction, institutional adjustment of participants, and misconduct/criminal recidivism.� The Contractor shall propose the research design, obtain approval from BOP�s Institutional Review Board (IRB), collect data, conduct analyses, and report findings and recommendations.� The goals of this research are to (a) maintain compliance with the First Step Act of 2018 by conducting efficacy research on the Bureau�s programs, (b) determine the effectiveness of the Bureau�s Anger Management group on outcomes of anger and violence, and (c) inform future revisions and updates.� Performance periods under this contract will be for a one-year base period estimated to begin on�around�September 1, 2021 with two (2) one-year option periods, with services ending (if all options years are renewed) on�August 31, 2024. The services required for this contract include a Base Year, Option Year One and Option Year Two. The services shall be in accordance with the Statement of Work. Hard copies of the quotation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions.
