- Description
- The Regional Health Contracting Office-Central, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, Texas intends to award a firm-fixed-price sole source contract to the QIAgen, LLC, at Germantown, MD, to provide specialized bioinformatics services to include data processing, analyzing and interpreting high-throughput biological and medical data with emphasis on next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, statistical data analysis, clinical data integration, statistical modeling, machine learning, metagenomics, ecology, phylogenetics, population genetics, evolutionary biology, data mining, advanced analysis method development, data structure and algorithm development, database development and maintenance, software and IT solutions at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Ft Sam Houston, TX. The period of performance will consist of a base year and four option years. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 United States Code 1901 as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.501(a)(ii), sole source (including brand name) under the authority of the simplified procedures for certain commercial items. Award will be made on or about 13 September 2021.� The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 541714, Research and Development in Biotechnology (except Nanobiotechnology). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A formal solicitation will not be published unless it is determined in the best interest of the Government to do so. However, all responses received, to include capability statements received before close of business 24 August 2021 will be considered by the Government.� A determination by the Government not to compete the interim purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
