Description
Amendment 0001 is issued to answer questions asked at the site visit and to provide photos of the shrub component. The due date for quotes remains unchanged - Monday August 23, 2021 at 4:00 pm. The photographs are provided because the visibility on the date of the site visit was poor due to the fires currently burning in Northern California. They are not current, they are from the implementation of the first phase of the project last year (September of 2020). The photos are meant for general information only, they are not a guarantee of the current site conditions. Q1:What are the seasonal restrictions for the project? A1: Seasonal restrictions can be found on page 9 of the PWS. Q2: What is the best access for the project? A2: Best access to the project site is via Laird Red Rock road. There is a small road that follows the ridgeline northwest of the project site; however, it adds over a mile of additional hiking for the crews. Q3: Is travel permitted off road via ATV/UTV? A3: Travel off road is only permitted for emergency purposes. Q4: Where should the piles be constructed when juniper trees are cut next to pine, fir, or incense cedar trees that are designated for retention? A4: Piles should be constructed away from the dripline of the trees to reduce impacts to leave trees during prescribed ire operations. Additionally, cut material can be added to existing piles within the treatment area. -- end --
