- The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price Contract for an upgrade to an upgrade of the Asheville VA Medical Center s existing Johnson Controls Fire Alarm and Notification System with Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 152(3) as implemented by FAR 8.405-6(A) & FAR 8.405-6(B). This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these services are highly specialized are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of 25 Aug 2021 to Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP, 4700 Exchange Ct STE 300, Boca Raton, FL 33431-4450, Cage Code 1WSK7. This is a Brand Name Only requirement for an upgrade of the existing Johnson Controls Fire Alarm and Notification System within the infrastructure of the Asheville VA Medical Center. Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP is the Original Equipment Manufacturer and asserts to being the only qualified source in which to provide and install these system upgrades without compromise to the entire facility s Fire Alarm and Notification System infrastructure. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it can meet the Government's requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Officer by no later than 20 Aug 2021 12:00 PM EDT by contacting Keith Hunter via e-mail at Keith.hunter@va.gov. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Those interested firms must indicate whether they are large, small, small-disadvantaged, 8(a) or woman owned business and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. Respondents who submit proprietary data shall clearly mark the data with appropriate markings. The Government will not pay for any information submitted because of this synopsis. This synopsis shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services.
