Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a written solicitation document will not be issued. (ii) Solicitation number 36C26221Q1237 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) in conjunction with FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and constitutes the only solicitation. The Government intends to award a single Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) award contract. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-05, dated March 10, 2021. (iv) There are no set-aside provisions associated with this procurement; the NAICS code is 334516 and small business size standard is 1000 employees. (v) The technical specifications are listed as brand name or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6. For equal items, please include technical specifications. If technical specifications showing how the equal product meets the salient characteristics are not included, your quote will be considered non-responsive and not considered for award. Brand Name or Equal to Tissue Tek Prisma Plus Manufacturer Product Description Quantity Tissue Tek Prisma Plus Automated Slide Stainer 1 Salient Characteristics Automated Slide Stainer: Be benchtop and fit within the existing space (60 x 28 x 22 ). Be open system compatible with current processor reagents. The VA has lab developed tests that run on this instrument that use current processor reagents. Medical Chemical Corporation brand reagent alcohols (100%, 95%) and Xylene are the reagents presently used on both stainer and processor. Be compatible with our current water, exhaust, and electrical system infrastructure. Current automated slide Stainer is connected to a tap water source. The current exhaust system is a hood that vents fumes to the outside, however future exhaust may use carbon filters. The current electrical system is rated voltage and current - single phase, 115VAC +- 10%, 50/60 Hz, 9A, 10A. Throughput of at least 500 slides per hour. Have built-in drying stations. Batch 3 slide racks (20 slide count each) at a given time. Be able to run H&E, Papanicolaou (PAP), and Special Stains. Have at least 3 start stations. Have at least 3 end stations. Feature slide rack agitation. Feature activated carbon filtration system. Must have special applications to be validated for use with the Hologic Thin Prep stain plus imaging system. Must have heated reagent stations - optional, 2, 86 TO 158F; 30 to 70C. User interface display - color LCD touchscreen. Operating temperature should be between 10 to 40 degrees Celsius. (vi) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 22) has a requirement for an automated slide strainer for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System s Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Department. The automated slide stainer is an instrument that automatically stains paraffin strips, frozen strips, cell, and other tissues pasted on slides.
