- Description
- The Library of Congress (Library) owns and operates a laboratory for the preservation and digitization of historic video collections at the National Audiovisual Conservation Center (NAVCC) in Culpeper, Virginia. NAVCC develops, preserves and provides broad access to a comprehensive and valued collection of the world's audiovisual heritage for the benefit of Congress and the nation's citizens. NAVCC is the first centralized facility in America especially planned and designed for the acquisition, cataloging, storage and preservation of the nation's collection of moving images and recorded sounds. Many different videotape formats are supported and a wide variety of videotape machines are employed. The Library is in need of information regarding vendors with the capability to repair the video equipment and videotape machines to include historic and sometimes obsolete video formats. Please see ""Historic Video Repairs - ""Sources Sought"" pdf attachment for sample list of video equipment. If your organization is interested in providing the aformentioned services, please provide a written one-page capability statement to the Contracting Officer Tiffany Lucas at tluc@loc.gov no later than the close of business on August 30, 2021. This is not a request for quote or proposal. This is a request for industry feedback and information to support market research to clarify the Library's future requirement at NAVCC. Capability Statements must demonstrate expertise and past experience in the repair of rare, historic, and fragile video equipment and video tape machines that are listed in the attachment, ""Historic Video Repairs - Sources Sought"".
