Description
Amendment III: The purpose of this Amendment is to up minimum specification 3 as follows: From: 3. Sensor window: polymer for low energy X-ray transmission To: 3. Sensor window: must be light tight but allow transmission of low energy X-ray, at least 10% at 0.4 keV All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. Please see attachment B-3 Amendment III for complete details. Amendment II: The purpose of this Amendment is to extend the due date/time for quotations due to the fact no quotations were received. The due date/time for quotations is hereby extended as follows: From: August 23, 2021 @ 12pm EST To: August 27, 27, 2021 at 3pm EST All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. Amendment I: The purpose of this Amendment is to address vendor questions received in regard to the requirements. See below: Question: Can you please confirm the kV required for the source/tube? Answer: To clarify, we do not need an x-ray source or tube. We already have a device called EBIT that produces X-ray from highly charged ions. We require an x-ray detector that can be used to observe the broad spectrum of X-ray emissions from our EBIT device. The operation of the EBIT is variable, producing X-rays with energies from 0.2 keV to 10 keV, depending on the electron beam energy selected. Question: Do you require a probe, if so what length? Answer: The detector must be mountable within the vacuum chamber. No specific probe is required, but details must be provided for mounting the detector and its integrated heat sink. NIST will use the mounting information to make the appropriate adapter to the EBIT device. Question: Is this a modular design to be mounted inside the vacuum chamber? Answer: The detector and its integrated heat sink will be mounted as close as possible to the aperture from which X-ray is emitted by the EBIT. It seems clear that the detector and heat sink must be modular. To get as close as possible to this x-ray emission aperture, the detector/heatsink package must be mountable within the vacuum fitting for the viewport, which is on a 4.5 Conflat flange. Question: How do you intend to mount the detector? Answer: The detector along with its heat sink must have mounting features, which NIST will use to fasten it to an alignment structure designed to optimize light collection from the EBIT. Mechanical details of the detector mounting mechanism must be provided so that NIST can build the adapter. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. HIGH RESOLUTION X-RAY DETECTOR per the requirements as set forth in the attached combined synopsis/solicitation. See attachment for complete details.
