- Description
- The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing in the US and abroad. In order to maintain response capabilities with viable respiratory support during the next phase of the pandemic, the USG must properly identify a necessary Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) services vendor to store, maintain, and properly prepare ventilator kits for deployments. The Government must make an urgent sole source award to Agiliti Health Inc. who is the contract holder for ventilator kit management requirements for the initial COVID storage, management, maintenance, repair, and transportation services. The Government must be positioned to regionally respond with ventilators with accompanying ancillary kits and other medical supplies deemed necessary as soon as possible, especially with the growing threat of new COVID variants. The vendor must have existing GFP inventory of product as well as the personnel to rapidly charge and prep these ventilators and have them whole alongside required supplies and accessories. Agiliti Health has the pre-existing knowledge, processes, operational structure, staffing, and space, required to support this operation. It would take an insurmountable amount of time, effort, and personnel from both the vendor and the USG in order to replicate existing processes, infrastructure, and knowledge with a new vendor. A delay in operations would reduce the amount of ventilators charged and re- kitted, and would consequently reduce the quantity of ventilators ready to be deployed to save laves the American Citizens whose respiratory systems may be compromised with the highly contagious and deadly variants.
