- 36C25021Q1099 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Philips Transducer The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Philips Healthcare 22100 Bothell Everett Highway P.O. Box 3003 Bothell, WA 98041. Cardiology would like to purchase 3 new probes to replace unserviceable probes taken out of service. The transducers from Philips are the only transducers that are compatible with the Philips EPIQ 7 Ultrasound which the Cleveland VAMC already owns. The Cardiology Section and Medicine Service is standardized to the Philips Healthcare TEE ultrasound machines. The service already owns X5-1 and X8-2t probes. No other TEE unit would be acceptable due to current equipment. The current supply of probes are only compatible with Philips TEE machines. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Monday August 30, 2021 at 2PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
