Description
Construct Fire Station Support Building (FTC) Construct a Fire Station Support Building at Turkey Creek Recreation Area, to support increased training requirements and support new training ranges at Fort Carson, CO. Turkey Creek Recreation Area is 9 Miles south of Gate #1 on HWY 115. This fire station supports the mission of the Main Fire Station at Fort Carson as a forward operating base with direct access to the training ranges and maneuver areas down range. This facility is required to support the wide range of combat units training at Fort Carson which includes: a Light Infantry Brigade; a Heavy Maneuver Brigade; a Stryker Brigade; a Combat Aviation Brigade; a Sustainment Brigade as well as National Guard and Reserve unit training. This facility supports new and expanded training ranges that increase training support requirements include the: FY09 Combined Arms CACTAF; FY 10 Scout Reconnaissance range PN 72172; and the Convoy Live Fire Range PN 72177 and FY17 Infantry Platoon Battle Course. The project includes an Apparatus Bay for three small fire trucks; a Residential area with five Dorm Rooms (the area where the firemen sleep, shower, eat and relax) and the Administration area for basic operations, communications, and training. This project will provide emergency back-up power for the Apparatus Bay lighting and doors, communication functions, and all associated equipment. Support facilities include POV parking, side walks, lighting and landscaping.
