Description
10761700: The CryoCycle II cryostats, (S/Ns 1300125, 13000144, 13001380, 13001003, 13001382, and 13001028), are installed in the gamma spectroscopy system that counts samples for radioactivity located at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS&IMF). The CryoCycle II cryostats are being repaired to return the cryostats to their standard function of maintaining high purity germanium detectors cold while recycling liquid nitrogen to minimize liquid nitrogen use. 10761701: The high purity Germanium (HPGE) detector, (S/N 11299), is installed in the gamma spectroscopy system that counts samples and items for radioactivity located at Naval Base Coronado. The HPGE detector is being repaired to return the detector to its standard function of counting samples and items for radioactivity. Additionally, this detector will be ISOCS/LabSOCS characterized in order to count samples and items in geometries such as the 250 ml bottle and 1 liter bottle since the lab does not have calibration sources in these other geometries as well as reduce the number of sources in the future. Only the ISOCS/LabSOCS characterization along with the LabSOCS software will allow the shipyard to perform efficiency calibrations of these geometries with DADMS approved software. 10761704: The sample counting laboratory currently uses Windows XP computers running version 1.2 of Apex-Gamma sample counting software. This service will upgrade the sample counting system to Apex-Gamma version 1.4.1 using the currently approved Windows 10 operating system. The installation and customization services will also include 1) updating current reports to work with the new software version, 2) customizing the current reports used off-site, and 3) ensuring the sample screen shows the weight uncertainty. 10891700-02: The three high purity Germanium (HPGE) detectors, (S/Ns 10709, 5997083, and 35-TP40567A), are installed in the gamma spectroscopy system that counts samples and items for radioactivity located at Yokosuka Japan and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. The HPGE detectors are being repaired to return the detectors to their standard function of counting samples and items for radioactivity. Additionally, these detectors will be ISOCS/LabSOCS characterized in order to count samples and items in geometries such as the 250 ml bottle and 1 liter bottle since the lab does not have calibration sources in these other geometries as well as reduce the number of sources in the future. Only the ISOCS/LabSOCS characterization along with the LabSOCS software will allow the shipyard to perform efficiency calibrations of these geometries with DADMS approved software.
