- FLOW CYTOMETER NOTICE OF INTENT The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Cytek Biosciences Inc. in Fremont, CA for a flow cytometer as described in the Salient Characteristics below. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS - Full spectrum, analytical flow cytometer - Instrument is capable of measuring autofluorescence as a parameter coupled with the ability to extract the autofluorescence from sample as a separate parameter - Single 488 blue laser, 14 channel cytometer with up to 9 fluorescent detection parameters - A single optical configuration that does not require changing filters - Highly overlapping dye combinations can be used including APC/Alexafluor647 - Spectral analysis and associated software capable of distinguishing overlapping peak emissions and still provide resolution - Ability to add additional lasers (red and/or violet) to provide capability to distinguish up to 24 colors - Small footprint system - Software and workstation capable of running SpectroFlo software - 3-year service agreement that includes on-site training ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Cytek Biosciences Inc. is, to the knowledge of the USGS, the only source who offers a flow cytometer that has the ability to subtract autofluorescence from samples as a separate parameter; has a single optical configuration that does not require changing filters and is capable of up to 9 fluorescent parameters; has the ability to quantify overlapping dye combinations with automatic color-compensation (e.g., APC and Alexafluor647); and uses Spectroflo software. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and associated size standard of 1,000 employees apply to this announcement, along with Product Service Code 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies). Responses or inquiries shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to capplegate@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than 09/03/2021 1200 PDT.
