- Description
- This an intent to Sole Source Notice issued by the Network Contracting Office 16 at 2002 Holcombe Blvd. Bldg. 100, Houston, Texas 77030. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Ortho Clinical Diagnostics 1001 US Highway 202 the procurement of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics reagents and supplies required to be compatible with the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) Manual Gel System. The GCVHCS Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service currently owns the Manual GEL System used to perform ABO/RH typing, antibody screening, Antigen screening, and antibody Identification of patient samples. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is the proprietor of the reagents for the Manual GEL System and there are no known authorized distributors of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics reagents and supplies. Physicians rely on these test results in the treatment of patients with anemia, leukemia, factor deficiency, bleeding disorders, immunocompromised patients needing a blood transfusion, etc. Any other brand will result in duplication of costs and delay in conducting necessary tests to maintain adequate Veterans healthcare support.
