Description
On behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), the Office of Acquisitions Contracts Management Branch Red, NINDS Section of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), intends to solicit on a sole-source basis by a request for quotation to MBF Bioscience, LLC (MBF) to acquire vDAQ based Data Acquisition System including ScanImage on or around September 10, 2021 with an award issued on or around September 17, 2021. The NINDS requires a multi-site and multi-color in vivo two photon brain imaging with two-photon optogenetic neural stimulation using customized microscopes and requires data acquisition hardware and software that can flexibly incorporate many different hardware configurations with the possibility of future configuration changes. MBF Bioscience is the only vendor of the ScanImage software. ScanImage is the only open-source two-photon imaging software that supports all configurations needed for this application. MBF is also the only vendor of the vDAQ system. Thus MBF Biosciences is the only vendor to provide a system for two-photon imaging using the vDAQ acquisition hardware operated via the ScanImage software. This system is the only commercially available system that meets the needs of this project. See attached Notice of Intent to Sole Source for more information.
