- INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE NOAA's NMFS, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), to St. Paul Fuel, LLC for fuel (primarily heating) to the NOAA facility on Saint Paul Island, Alaska. The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) Marine Mammal Laboratory (MML) conducts research on marine mammals as part of the mission of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with particular attention to issues related to marine mammals on the remote Pribilof Islands off the coasts of Alaska. The AFSC has facilities on St. Paul Island, Alaska the largest of in the Pribilof group.� St. Paul has a small NOAA facility that includes staff quarters, a laboratory and garage for government vehicles.� It is located 1,309 miles west of Juneau in the Bering Sea (straight line distance).� St. Paul Island being a truly remote site has only one source that can provide heating fuel oil, Aleut Community of St Paul Island, Tribal Government, an 8A company. Heating Fuel for NOAA facilities on St. Paul Island, Alaska. Up to 15,200 gallons� Estimated amount - $60,000� Period of Performance:� Date of Award � 31 December 2022 Fuel is to be delivered throughout the year on a keep full basis and as needed. Only one source is capable to currently to support this requirement as there is only one source on this very remote island that provides fuel for the facilities on this island.��� Award for this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. Anticipated value will be under the Simplified acquisition procedures with an estimated value of less than $150,000.00. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
