Description
NOAA's NMFS, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), to Delta Western, 420 L Street Suite 101, Anchorage, Alaska, 99501 The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) Marine Mammal Laboratory (MML) conducts research on marine mammals as part of the mission of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with particular attention to issues related to marine mammals on the remote Pribilof Islands off the coasts of Alaska. The AFSC has a small facility on St. George Island. The island has a land area of 35 square miles and a population of about 100 people, all living in its only community, the city of�St. George, which encompasses the entire island.� It is located about 1,305 miles west of Juneau, AK in the Bering Sea (straight line distance).� St. George Island being a truly remote site has only one source of that can provide fuel oil for the facility, Delta Western, a small business company that services the entire island. Deliverables will be Fuel for the NOAA facility on St. George Island, Alaska.� The performance will be from the date of Award � 31 December 2022 Fuel is to be delivered throughout the year to keep the tank(s) full or on an as-needed basis. Award for this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. Anticipated value will be under the Simplified acquisition procedures with an estimated value of less than $150,000.00. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
