- Innovate with the FAA: The Future of Surveillance Services Beyond 2025 Virtual Industry Week March 30 � April 2, 2021 Today and into the future, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) embraces innovation to deliver vital surveillance services for safe and efficient use in the National Airspace System (NAS). The deployment of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and Fusion automation revolutionizes surveillance services delivered to air traffic controllers, pilots, and travelers. Maintaining this path of modernization, the FAA hosted a virtual industry week with the aviation surveillance industry to look at how surveillance services will continue to evolve. On March 30, 2021, the FAA�s Surveillance Services leadership team presented its strategy and 2021 NAS Enterprise Architecture Infrastructure Roadmaps. Additional sessions took a deeper look at the evolution of NAS surveillance. Agenda topics included: Surveillance Services Strategy Surveillance Acquisition and Sustainment Surveillance and Broadcast Services Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar Surveillance Architecture and Data Network Wind Farm Mitigation Future of Short Range Non-cooperative Surveillance On March 31, 2021, the FAA provided information regarding the Surveillance Broadcast and Information Services (SBIS) acquisition. Agenda topics included: SBIS Acquisition Plans System Overview Enhancements Innovation Opportunities Between April 1-2, 2021 the FAA SBIS team conducted confidential one-on-one sessions with industry partners. The FAA maintains a commitment to deliver secure, integrated, state-of-the-art surveillance services � which can only be created in collaboration with the aviation community. Help us define the future for the most advanced air traffic surveillance capabilities in the world. Industry Week Follow-up Questions Surveillance Services Industry Week follow-up questions must be submitted by April 9, 2021 to: Phil Moyers at: Phillip.L.Moyers@faa.gov Aleksandra Skoric at: Aleksandra.skoric@faa.gov All questions should be noted as proprietary or non-proprietary Any proprietary or confidential information contained in any industry submissions that should not be released to the public should be appropriately marked, and industry should be prepared to provide justification to the FAA of such designations if requested.� May-June 2021 FAA and Industry One-on-One Sessions* Industry partners are encouraged to request a FAA-Industry One-on-One Session with the Surveillance Services team to collaborate with the FAA on the following topics: Surveillance Acquisition and Sustainment Strategy Surveillance Architecture and Data Networking Wind Farm Mitigation Future of Short Range Non-cooperative Surveillance These One-on-One Sessions are by reservation only and are planned to be held in May-June 2021. Please submit the online One-on-One Session Request Form by April 14, 2021. (Refer to One-on-One Request Form link provided below in the Attachments/Links section.) The FAA Surveillance Services team will schedule meeting times and email invitations based on information provided in the online Request Form. *NOTES: Surveillance Broadcast and Information Services (SBIS) and Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar (SENSR) strategies will be addressed in other forums. These meetings are limited to 45 minutes. Members of the FAA team may request a meeting or respondents may request a meeting; however, the FAA team is under no obligation to meet with all respondents requesting a one-on-one session. Furthermore, these sessions are neither required nor a prerequisite for future consideration and will not be considered in the evaluation. Any proprietary or confidential information contained in any industry submissions that should not be released to the public should be appropriately marked, and industry should be prepared to provide justification to the FAA of such designations if requested. The hosting of one-on-one sessions in no way alters the FAA�s obligations under existing law, including any duties owed by the FAA under the Freedom of Information Act. If selected to have a one-on-one session, the Surveillance Services team will contact representatives with session date, time, login and dial-in information.
