- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement for VoIP Project which involves the installation of new Cat6A copper cabling within Building 4 on the WRC campus located in Seattle, WA. The Alaska Fisheries Science Center has requirements to upgrade their network cabling infrastructure to attain increased performance, reliability and security in order to support a campus-wide enterprise-class Voice over IP (VoIP) and update/upgrade existing network cabling. VoIP technology will replace existing telephony systems and have a positive impact towards improved business productivity, collaboration, and employee satisfaction. The AFSC is seeking to replace the current outdated phone system with modern VoIP and cabling is required to meet the minimum requirements for the new system. The primary objective of this project is to provide a cabling infrastructure to upgrade and support a local area network (LAN) and future VoIP expansion. The contractor shall be responsible for planning, design, and install of an intra-building cabling system. This structured cabling system will include Cat6A cable between endpoints which may include Staff Workstations, Cubicles, Offices, Conference Rooms, etc. and the cable management system in the communications rooms/intermediate distribution facilities (IDF). The main components of this cabling system shall be the actual cable, cable pathways, connecting hardware, and support facilities. This will include but not limited to: cables, equipment rack, patch panels, patch cords, plugs/jacks, path and raceway components, J hooks, D rings, cable support, pull lines and accessories to provide a complete and working cable system. Part of the installation activities is the end-to-end testing of the installed cable and documentation of installed �cabling and machine printed labeling is part of the scope of work. �See attached Statement of Work for more information.� �All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation has been issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in within 24 hours of closing date and time.
